Genre & Voice
We seek original works that challenge the status quo. Whether it's poetry, prose, photography, or art, your voice must be authentic and unapologetic.
Length & Format

Submit a maximum of three poems per issue, six pages max.
​
Maximum of two pieces of prose per issue, seven pages max <1,200 words.
All submissions must be in .docx or .pdf format, in formal fonts such as EB Garamond or Times New Roman unless it is changed for creative expression. We will do our best to keep it in its original form.

For photography and art, please submit as a .pdf or just regular photos .PNG is fine as well. Maximum of three per issue.
Submission Process
Submit your work through the google form attached below. Include a brief third person bio <100 words and a note about why you are interested in submitting to Citron Lit. We will review all entries within two weeks. If it has been over two weeks, please feel free to inquiry from the email attached below.
Rights & Ownership
By submitting, you grant us the right to publish your work in our magazine, on our website, and to post to any forms of social media present. While our issues are forthcoming, we ask that you grant us first serial rights until the issue is published, then all copyrights to your original work(s) revert back to you. If your work if first published at Citron Lit, we ask that if your work is accepted anywhere else, please credit Citron Lit as the first publication.

We allow simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately upon the instance that your work is accepted elsewhere! We do accept previously published work, but make sure to let us know where it was first published so we can properly credit the first publishers.

We nominate for most major awards including Pushcart, Best of Net, etc.

**AI usage of any kind is PROHIBITED. If we find out you have used generative ai in the production of your works, your work will not be considered. We also do not accept hate speech or discriminatory remarks of any kind.**
